Zombie Walks are held every year in many towns and cities throughout the world to help benefit non-profit organizations, causes and local events.
Ours is to help cancer research for children. Please help us get this event off the ground so we can help others! It is high time for New Mexico to join the action and make it a yearly tradition here. So prepare to get your shuffle on. Zombie Walk shall be upon you! DATE: TBD TIME: TBD LOCATION: TBD SPECIAL OFFER: Hollywood Makeup FX Artist Shawn Darling or his talented assistant will zombify your head, neck and hands for $25.00 BEFORE the event so arrange an appointment at: gryphonsegg@gmail.com Spread the news with word of mouth, posters, Facebook, anything!! We ask that you please familiarize yourselves with the walk guidelines, before arriving at the walk. This is important to make sure we have a walk that is fun and safe for everyone involved… and ensures our ability to continue holding Zombie Walks in New Mexico! As always, the walk is all-ages and free of charge to participate. The walk is open to EVERYONE, not just the walking dead! Please come dressed and made-up as a Zombie (no masks please). Zombie Walk Guidelines
For you and the public's safety we have to abide by certain rules so we can continue to have Zombie Walk.
1. Zombies shuffle and lurch slowly 2. Zombies don’t have/use cell phones. 3. Zombies don’t talk or scream or shriek or howl – they moan or grunt. 4. Keep blood/makeup/props on your clothing & body If you intentionally or unintentionally leave it somewhere else, it can be considered vandalism. You don’t want that ticket. 5.Do not to bring extra blood or supplies with you. If you make a mess, you are legally responsible for it and you may give the walk a bad reputation – not cool. 6. Obey all traffic laws and signs! Do not block foot or auto traffic, as it is a safety risk and can also be illegal depending on the situation. 7. Don’t approach or touch anyone not associated with the walk Keep your hands and feet to yourself and out of people’s faces (do not to reach out at members of the public as we pass them… (this can be considered threatening behavior). 8. Please do not lean over any barriers/fences, enter any shops, lean into doorways/entryways, or pound on/touch windows. These are all borderline illegal behaviors. If law enforcement sees you doing it, they may ticket or arrest you. If they don’t see you, retailers and restaurateurs may lobby to ban the Zombie Walk because you’re annoying them and their customers. So, please refrain from those activities. 9. Eat a nice meal and drink some water BEFORE starting the walk. We do not want any casualties during the event. Bathroom breaks may be limited during walk so make sure you go before you stroll! 10. And finally, you may only munch on your friend's or fans at their request at the end of the walk for photo opportunities. Please do not harm humans or zombies for any reason. Things to leave at home • Weapons… No fake ones, no real ones, no imaginary invisible ones. You will be asked to put them back in your car or get rid of them. Zombies do not carry weapons anyway! • PA systems, stereos, boomboxes, megaphones, etc… Amplified sound requires a permit and isn’t necessary for our walk. • Alcohol/drugs… We ask that you refrain from partaking in any mind-altering substances before the walk, due to public intoxication laws. While the Zombie Walk can be considered by some to be a sort of a pub crawl, we ask that participants do not show up intoxicated. If you show up under the influence, you’ll be asked to leave immediately. We ask this for your safety and the safety of others, not to mention that being intoxicated tends to make you do stupid things, and we don’t want stupid things happening on our walk. |
PICTURES & VIDEO
As long as you don’t stop our group at any time and don’t get in our way or block the flow of regular foot/vehicle traffic; you are welcome to take pictures & video. And for participants…
by participating in the walk, you acknowledge that you are aware your face and/or likeness will be posted all over the internet and elsewhere and that you’re cool with it. If you or anyone you know does take pictures or video, please contact us afterward, so that we can post it here! Zombies love to see themselves in action. In general, please follow all regular laws of the State of New Mexico and please maintain a level of common courtesy to refrain from giving the public a negative image of the group. If we see you breaking the law and/or violating these very simple guidelines, you will be asked to leave. If the offense is dangerous or threatening, you will be reported to the nearest law enforcement official (and they will be around during our walk, thankfully). Again, we’re not trying to be a buzzkill, but we want you to have fun in the most safe & enjoyable manner possible – and we want the public to be entertained by us, not threatened by us.
